All species of plants have the same number of chromosomes in each body cell. True or false and why?

You have to be careful in using the terms.

All members of the same species will have the same number of chromosomes. All species of plants have the same number of chromosomes in each body cell. True or false and why?
True. All the cells originate from the meristematic cells in the plant. Meristematic cells divide to produce more cells. This enables the plant to grow and repair itself. The process of division is called mitosis. The resulting cells are identical to the parent in terms of their DNA. All cells are clones of each other and contain the same number of chromosomes. Once these cells specialize, they may become stem, root or leaf cells but, their DNA is the same. The only difference is that once the meristematic cells specialize, different portions of the DNA activate to allow them to perform their different functions. Hope this helps. Good Luck. All species of plants have the same number of chromosomes in each body cell. True or false and why?
EACH species will have the same number in each body cell, since all the cells in a particular plant are descended from an single fertilised egg.

All the members of a species will have the same number of chromosomes as all the other members (except for the odd freak)
