Can you tell me which of the following about Obama's health care plan are true and which are false?

1. Obama wants to kill your grandparents.

2. Taxpayers will pay for abortions.

3. Obama will eliminate private insurance.

4. The government isn't efficient enough to run health care.

5. Everyone will be required to subscribe to and use this plan.

6. Illegal immigrants will be granted free medical coverage.

7. The tax increase from this reform will be the biggest in history.

If you answered ';true'; to any of these, you might want to do some reading. Can you tell me which of the following about Obama's health care plan are true and which are false?
All false. Can you tell me which of the following about Obama's health care plan are true and which are false?
You have a definitional problem. Obama expressly said he wants to adopt the Daschle plan but will sign whatever moves us in that direction. He is presently pushing to pass HB 2.

1) Sort of. The ';Daschle plan'; makes it unlawful for the elderly to receive any sort of care whatsoever.

2) True. It's in HB2.

3) True. Positively mandated by HB2. Not right away, but over time ALL private alternatives must phase-out of existence as they are forever forbidden from taking-on new customers.

4) True. According to Congressional Democrats it will cost too much to make paying for it even plausible (they boldly said ON TV they would simply have to lie about it)

5) True. It's in HB2, subject to criminal penalties for resisting.

6) True. HB2 prohibits considering immigration status

7) See #4 Positively true.

You've proved beyond all honest argument that YOU haven't seen the inside of the bill Obama's pushing. (or that you're lying)
I think this is mostly true.

1. Potential for health care rationing is there.

2. Not sure on this

3. It wont eliminate to private insurance industry but may eventually drive them out of business.

4. If you want to find out more just look to the results in Canada and the UK. There are people over there waiting a year or longer to get in to see their doctors for basic medical care.

5. They may not be required to subsribe to it but they will pay for it in taxes.

6. I have read some of whats being proposed and Illegals are covered for free.

7. Again look to Canada and UK. It will increase taxes.
1. F he wants to offer end of life counseling IF REQUESTED ONLY

2. T if they are legal medical procedures, and they ARE.

3. F his intent is to make them more competitive, but if some drop out, it won't matter

4. F the government runs the VA and I have no gripes about the Dallas VA Medical Center

5. TOO EARLY TO SAY

6. ALSO TOO EARLY TO SAY, BUT IT WOULD BE CHEAPER THAN ER VISITS ONLY

7. F deficit neutral, tax increase on 100k + only
1. Limited coverage for elderly

2.. Yes

3. Not eliminate, but a lower cost/no other option will dirve those other options out.

4.. Medicare/Medicade should answer this question.

5. Eventually, you'll be a number not a person.

6. Yes, they are part of the 50 million uninsured. Obama sees them as future voters.

7.. Everyone will get taxed heavily. Obama says only the top 5%, but even the CBO says otherwise. People don't listen to the facts about anything, that's why we're screwed.
LOL gotta love the idiots who use fact check, when fact check over the debates were brought over to reality it means nothing...the AP tore up Obama Care, the CBO tore up Obama care and the only reason they are doing Obama Care is to get to single payer. Obama has said this more than 1 time and MANY high profile Democrats hve stated this ON VIDEO that is not edited. This is the SAME BS he pulled with the NRA and it turns out at least 3/4 of what the NRA said was true
None of them are true. I read very well :)

To the person above: Medicare Advantage plans will no longer be subsidized by the government. The insurance companies have been getting YOUR tax dollars to compete with traditional Medicare. That is what is being ended and that is what that section is talking about. A little bit of knowledge will help you not fall for the BS you are being fed.

By the way, link your source please, I would love to see this crap myself. Thanks.
Every one is a lie. Sadly most people don't care to check their sources - if they see a Dixie flag above the website they are satisfied.
Well, while I agree with the overhaul in insurance reform, there is a bit of a clause in the bill where, under the government option, in a case where harm to the mother is apparent, an abortion could be covered by insurance.

Mostly all false

Listen to this jackass

I am opposed to Obama and his socialized medicine cockamamie scheme. Your so-called choices are fraudulently edited.
Good test! And of course you are right on all 7! Let's see how watered down the final bill will be. I think Obama has spent too much time on the party of NO!
2-7 true....why do i need to do some reading?
All are false.
all true
No, you might want to do a bit more reading than of the talking points you were handed.

For example: 2. Taxpayer money won't pay for abortions is a VERY careful wording. The PLAN would pay for abortions but since premiums will also be required of at least some part, abortion payments would come out of funds set aside from the private payment portion of revenue. Since money is fungible, that is pure book keeping. They currently are saying one plan in each state must have a 'no abortion' option.

3. disingenuous because he will say what insurance is and make all private plans conform, so what is the difference? There is still not the variety of CHOICE. All plans end so if you keep yours or leave your job and lose it, your current plan will expire. Grandfathered plans are not allowed to take ANY new enrollees. ALL that will be left are the plans that Obama built.

4. is obvious. Government ISN'T efficient enough to run health care, medicare is insolvent so is social security. No investor in their right mind would give management of their funds to our government.

5. See 3.

6. Committee Dems have voted down amendments requiring ID that people are legally here. People who are living here illegally clearly have no problem saying they are here legally, particularly when they know you aren't allowed to check up on them.

7. Actually, Obama has been very unclear about how this will be paid for except for the half a trillion he would raid from already insolvent medicare.

One problem about asking questions when you don't know the answer, is that sometimes somebody else will.
Facts really don't make a difference in this debate. Those who argue that it will raise taxes through the roof only care because it isn't raising them for something they want. And since they already have what they consider adequate health insurance, they don't want it.

They are able to completely blind themselves to the reality of the problems of today's health care system. They are unable to grasp the fact that if things continue as they are, the entire system will collapse. They aren't keeping up with the number of public hospitals currently on the verge of having to close because they can no longer support the care of people without insurance.

Those who argue that it will pay for abortions are allowing one small bit of the plan to invalidate the entire plan, just to force their own morality on the rest of us.

Those who think it will kill seniors believe that Medicare currently covers every medical procedure known to man, and that every medical procedure should be used to keep everyone alive as long as is scientifically possible, regardless of quality of life.

From what I have read in HR 3200, the only way to not be on the public option is to keep whatever insurance you have as of the date of it going into effect. If you leave the insurance you have at that time, your only option is the public one. This doesn't bother me terribly since I'm aware of how well it works in France.

6 is a moot point. Illegals are already granted free medical coverage now. Nothing is being done either in today's system or in the proposed national health insurance system to stop this.

But the real underlying problem is that there is an attitude that ';I have what I need and I do not care about the effects of those who do not have it on my own situation because I am too blind to look at the facts.';
Heh! I want to die in my own time, and my own way thank you! I have reading up on herbal remedies! Most of them work better than the crap the Drug companies push down our throats, and I can grow my own! Who needs that kind of healthcare?

Taxpayers and others, they usually DO pay for their own abortions!

I don't know about Obama eliminating private insurance companies, there are a LOT of them in this country, and they are NOT going to allow some kid to dictate to them what they can do or not!

No.4 Exactly!!! Having a healthcare plan is fine IF the people who are running it know what THEY are doing! OK guys! if there are any Board Certified MD's in the house, please stand up!!!

5. Yeah! that's the Plan!! and I MEAN everyone, including the idiots who set this thing in motion!

6. That's already happening! and they are coming over the border, to get their names on the list!

7. You think the UK is over taxed eh! You ain't seen nothing yet when these guys get cracking!!!

Ok, I answered your questions, now I have one for you! Just what is it you want us to read? The Government hasn't taken the time to read their own policies and plans, so why the Hell should I!?
No one denies that in an affluent country such as our own, it borders on tragic that millions do not have some form of health care. I feel for those Americans; I really do. I agree that health care reform is needed badly in America, but I don't believe the bill of goods called ';universal health care'; that is being pitched presently by our president contains the solution. In fact, I believe it is bad medicine for America.

-- First, universal health care unwisely is being rushed.

Should sweeping health care reform be enacted in a world-record time? Just like the stimulus packages and bogus bailout baloney, Obama-care is being shoved downed America's throat (without explanation) and propelled like a ramrod through Congress (without examination). I call it the Obama blitzkrieg: create crisis; crunch numbers; and cram legislation. The fact is the president continues to sell the program, but there is still no single plan he or Congress is ready to sell.

-- Second, universal health care clearly would drive our country deeper into debt, which is being progressively purchased by foreign powers without any concern by Washington to stop it.

Obama said in his nationally televised news conference, ';Health care reform is not going to add to that deficit; it's designed to lower it.'; How can he say that when they haven't even settled on a single health care plan? When he doesn't know the far-reaching implications of offering it in every community across the nation?

The president is struggling to base his rhetoric in fiscal reality. Even according to the Congressional Budget Office, the Senate version of the health care legislation ';would result in a net increase in federal deficits of about $1.0 trillion for fiscal years 2010 through 2019.'; Is that what you call good fiscal responsibility within an economy and government that already is bordering on bankruptcy?

-- Third, universal health care would impersonalize health care and ration medical services.

Government takeover of health care also would allow Washington to use ';comparative effectiveness research'; to dictate to doctors which treatments they should prescribe and how much they should cost. That in turn would lead to rationing of health care services.

Canada and Europe already have proved that national health care translates into national nightmares, with a plethora of new government regulations and new systems of rationing medical attention. Under government-run services, personal health care would transform into more impersonal harassment. More government means more menacing minutiae running our lives.

-- Fourth, universal health care ultimately would limit the competitive market of health care.

And what about for the taxpayers who would pay for the program? Would having universal health care encourage their future productivity? Further taxing members of the upper class (which would mean further penalizing their productivity) certainly would not provide incentive for Americans chasing the American dream. And their added taxes obviously would trickle down to consumers, as well. Or do we just assume they would pay 47 million Americans' universal health care out of their surpluses?

You don't create competitive markets by creating monopolies, yet that is exactly what government-run universal health care would prevent: competition. If government should do anything, it should crack down on medical insurance monopolies. If government wants to regulate one more thing, it would be better to regulate the medical insurance companies, not the American people.

-- Fifth, universal health care ultimately would transform legislators into quasi health care practitioners.

With government-sanctioned universal health care, legislators would become quasi medical practitioners because they would lead and guide the government-controlled medical boards, personnel and policies that would oversee the program. That would include abortive and end-of-life counsel and services. Federal politicians would rely upon relatively few chief physicians (appointed mostly by them), who in turn would oversee and implement the medical policies and procedures that they felt were best for the country.

-- Sixth, universal health care would increase big government, and America would continue on the slippery slope toward socialism.

The nanny state is not our solution to better health. Our government already provides two medical coverage programs: Medicare (for senior citizens) and Medicaid (for low-income citizens). The president mentioned in his speech last week that those two programs are the greatest contributors to our skyrocketing deficit. So why not reform, improve and enhance those programs rather than create a third (or fourth or fifth) government medical bureaucracy called ';universal health care';?

What is needed in Washington is a truly bipartisan group that is allowed an ample amount of time to work on a compromise health care program that wouldn't ra
If you answered 'False' to any of these, you might want to open your eyes, read the bill and see the lies right in front of you!

Now, let's deconstruct this ';question'; one line at a time, shall we?

1.';Obama wants to kill your grandparents.';

Page 425 Lines 4-12: Govt mandates Advance Care Planning Consult. Think of Senior Citizens as end of life patients.

Page 427 Lines 15-24: Govt MANDATES program for ORDERS FOR END OF LIFE! The Govt has a say in WHEN your life ends.

Page 429 Lines 10-12: ';advanced care consultation'; may include an

2. ';Taxpayers will pay for abortions.';

AP Story; Gov't insurance would allow coverage for abortion

By RICARDO ALONSO-ZALDIVAR (AP)

WASHINGTON - Health care legislation before Congress would allow a new government-sponsored insurance plan to cover abortions, a decision that would affect millions of women and recast federal policy on the divisive issue.

(see entire article at) http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/arti鈥?/a>

3. ';Obama will eliminate private insurance.';

Page 341 Lines 3-9: Govt has authority to disqualify Medicare Advance Plans, HMOs, etc. Forcing people into Govt plan.

private HC plans in the Exchange.

Page 124 lines 24-25 HC: No company can sue GOVT on price fixing. No ';judicial review'; against Govt Monopoly.

This one is so self-obvious as to need no counter explanation.

citizens, illegal or otherwise.

Page 170 Lines 1-3 HC Bill : Any NONRESIDENT Alien is exempt from individual taxes. (ONLY Americans will pay).

Page 167 Lines 18-23: ANY individual who doesn't have acceptable HC according to Govt will be taxed 2.5% of income.

More facts:

NO ONE in this country is denied health care, PERIOD! The only thing a VERY SMALL number are denied is health INSURANCE! If they need health care, they just show up at any E.R. and are taken care of just like any other paying citizen. It is then left up to the hospital's business office to negotiate the terms of payment, (or lack thereof) AFTER the life has been saved.
