Are there absolute distinctions between what is true and what is false?

Yes, whatever the mob believes is the truth, whatever the mob fears is false. Basic Logic, Truth is an abstract, subjective or objective concept based on current beliefs. It is neither measurable, or assumable, or insurable, hence all truth is illogical, and likewise all fears (falsehoods are based solely on fears) are illogical as well. The only absolutes under the three current popular streams of thought is that Truth, is first suggested, then tested, then IMPOSED, then accepted. Truth is not an absolute! An absolute needs to be; first suggested, then tested, and (upon absolute evidence) accepted. The ';imposition'; of truth makes it fail the test of being absolute. A logical absolute also requires the following: It must be only of itself and unto itself, This is this. The reverse cannot be equal, This is not that and that is not this. Last it cannot change, this cannot ever become that. Are there absolute distinctions between what is true and what is false?
Yes. Any disagreement with that can be dealt with by either realizing a thing is a matter of opinion and is not inherently true or false, such as the best way to cook a steak, or else we don't know enough to determine if a given thing is true or false, or else we have not precisely enough specified a thing for it to be either entirely true or entirely false. But truth and falseness are as distinct and absolute as red and green. Are there absolute distinctions between what is true and what is false?
Interesting question - enter the idea of 'belief' when people believe things to be 'true' they 'know' the that it is so. In fact truth and 'knowledge' are not related - hence we have 'religion'.
What is past is false, and what is here and now and in the present is true.
A fine line can separate all that's true and false-

the truth is what we see and know

the false what we think.

No. Truth is generally agreed upon and can change in an instant.
