Is there any way to tell between a false pregnancy and true pregnancy in dogs without an ultrasound?

My miniature schnauzer was bred on various occasions between April 11-15. Since then, her nipples have enlarged and she does appear ';plump'; but not significantly larger. If she is expecting, she would be due sometime in the next 2-3 weeks and I would expect her to be larger than she is by now. She did not seem to stop eating at any point so the ';morning sickness'; has not occurred. Is there any way to tell definitley before I call the vet for an ultrasound if she is just exhibiting signs of false pregnancy or if this is the real thing?Is there any way to tell between a false pregnancy and true pregnancy in dogs without an ultrasound?
You can attempt to palpate her abdomen to see if you feel any puppies in there. With her due in the next 2 - 3 weeks, it isn't a bad idea to go ahead and have x-rays taken to verify the pregnancy, if she is pregnant your vet should be able to tell you how many pups she is carrying, which is helpful during delivery, that way you know for sure they that all the pups have been born and one hasn't gotten lodged in the birth canal.





Just an FYI, they do not do Ultrasounds on dogs, they do X-rays to confirm pregnancy.Is there any way to tell between a false pregnancy and true pregnancy in dogs without an ultrasound?
well can you wait the 2-3 weeks to find out ? if puppies come it's not a false pregnancy !

If the pregnancy gets larger and larger every month, then it's a true pregnancy.
