What is your criteria to distinguish between true and a false Religion?

Religion is a belief in the unknown and if you tune your mind to this concept then true Religion will be the one that you follow. What is your criteria to distinguish between true and a false Religion?
the is no sutch thing as a true relgion thay are all falseWhat is your criteria to distinguish between true and a false Religion?
They're all false.

Evidence. On the basis of which, all are false: not one can demonstrate the truth of its tenets without referring to an allegedly ';holy'; text -- which, when analyzed, invariably have errors.
True Religion acording to the book of James in the Bible. is helping orphans and widows and keeping oneself clean of the sins of the world.

So any church temple or Mosk that does those things is a true religion.

A False religion is any Church temple or mosk that claims it is the only path, That claims they alone are the chosen people. That separates them from the rest of humanity and creates divisions . They are the reason for all the wars and famine we have today in our world.
Whether or not they adhere to scriptural teachings and follow the example set by Jesus Christ while on earth.
if a religion teach that there is a god - it is false.
No religion is false. What is purported to be the reason for it is false.
True religion = My religion

False religion = Every other religion.
there is no reason why us as intellectually indulged as we are can afflictively criticize anything
Evidence, sound logic, and a clear explanation of the goal.
Jesus said: 'Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the TRUE worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him.

God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth. John 4:23,24

So, if there is one lie, it cannot be truth. Revelation 2%26amp;3 show that many Christian congregations have been polluted with false teachings, so those in them, need to recognize this and repent, or else Jesus will come with the long sword of his mouth; Rev.2:16.
Any that teach love of God, love of self, and love of each other has at least some measure of the truth.

I've found that mine, the Catholic Church has the most measure of truth, but any that teach love (instead of judgment, condemnation, exclusion) also have truth too.
If a religion produces ';fear'; in me, its a false religion. If it makes me feel secure, it's a true religion.
That's easy. If they believe that their way is the only way, then they are a false religion.
Since truth is the only meaningful foundation upon which we can make wise decisions, how then can one establish what is really true? Increasingly more people are finding that making wise decisions is becoming more and more difficult because of the ultra-interconnected world in which we live. Constantly forced into our consciousness is an incessant barrage of counsel, advice, and promotions. It is done by a bewildering array of media, Internet, and other means. On a given subject we can receive multiple strongly delivered, carefully crafted messages with solutions. But often two of the solutions can be diametrically opposed. No wonder some are confused and are not sure how to make the right decisions.

To further complicate matters, others try to persuade us that our decisions must be socially acceptable and politically correct. Some pondering of that approach will reveal how wrong it is. Since social and political structures differ widely over the world and can dramatically change with time, the folly of using that method to make choices is apparent.

There are two ways to find truth—both useful, provided we follow the laws upon which they are predicated. The first is the scientific method. It can require analysis of data to confirm a theory or, alternatively, establish a valid principle through experimentation. The scientific method is a valuable way of seeking truth. However, it has two limitations. First, we never can be sure we have identified absolute truth, though we often draw nearer and nearer to it. Second, sometimes, no matter how earnestly we apply the method, we can get the wrong answer.

The best way of finding truth is simply to go to the origin of all truth and ask or respond to inspiration. For success, two ingredients are essential: first, unwavering faith in the source of all truth; second, a willingness to keep God’s commandments to keep open spiritual communication with Him.

I tend to go with the Revealed Truth Approach

What have we learned about truth through revelation?

Centuries ago, God the Father permitted some of His prophets to view His vast creations perfectly, through the eye of the Holy Spirit. He also explained why He had created them: “For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.”

I believe James when he taught: ';If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.';

Some have use the following:

1. Christ organized the Church (Eph 4:11-14)

2. The true church must bear the name of Jesus Christ (Eph 5:23)

3. The true church must have a foundation of Apostles and Prophets (Eph 2:19-20)

4. The true church must have the same organization as Christ's Church (Eph 4:11-14)

5. The true church must claim divine authority (Heb 5:4-10)

6. The true church must have no paid ministry (1 Cor 9:16-18; Acts 20:33-34; John 10:11-13)

7. The true church must baptise by immersion (Matt 3:13-16)

8. The true church must bestow the gift of the Holy Ghost by the laying on of hands (Acts 8:14-17)

9. The true church must practice divine healing (Mark 3:14-15)

10. The true church must teach that God and Jesus are seperate and distinct individuals (John 17:11; 20:17)

11. The true church must teach that God and Jesus have bodies of flesh and bone (Luke 23:36-39; Acts 1:9-11; Heb 1:1-3)

12. The officers must be called by God (Heb 4:4; Ex 28:1; 40:13-16)

13. The true church must claim revelation from God (Amos 3:7)

14. The true church must be a missionary church (Matt 28:19-20)

15. The true church must be a restored church (Acts 3:19-20)

16. The true church must practice baptism for the dead (1Cor 15:16%26amp;29)

17. ';By their fruits ye shall know them.'; (Matt 7:20)
One's that don't think others will live eternal.
like one contrived by a man..like Smith/Mormonism.

or Applewhite/Heavens Gate cult (google it, fun)

those are false..

When you get into Islam vs. Christianity, you can go after Islam and point out that it is all Mohamed etc. or the Buddha etc.

Jews and Christians that have solid prophecy and person after person that has contributed..it seems to be a little harder to ';get'; those guys on the false (aka contrived) religion charge.
Now how do we do that????
If anyone says that they have it, they don't.
Where does it stand in light of Biblical Authority.

~OM~
Scripture. True follows it, false does not. (It has been somewhat corrupted, and must be read with care and insight)
