Is there a difference between typical ribs, atypical ribs, and true ribs, and false ribs?

I'm confused with ribs. Which ones are typical and which ones are atypical. And are they the same as true and false ribs?Is there a difference between typical ribs, atypical ribs, and true ribs, and false ribs?
They are different.

Ribs 1-7 are true ribs, because the cartilage is attached directly to the sternum.

The remaining ribs are false ribs, because their distal attachment is cartilage of their superior neighbor.

Ribs 3-9 are typical ribs. Typical ribs are composed of a head, and neck, and a tubercle. The Typical ribs are made up of 2 articular facets, a superior costal facet, and an inferior costal facet. The Superior facet attaches itself to the semilunar demifacet of the vertebra above its level. The inferior facet attaches itself to the semicircular demifacet of the vertebra from the same level.

Ribs 1, 9, 10, 11, and 12 are Atypical ribs. The are atypical because they are only articulate with their own vertebra via one FULL facet.

hope i helped!
